According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are ready to offer Franck Kessie a contract, with the AC Milan midfielder’s contract set to expire soon.
What’s the story?
Well, the transfer window only ended yesterday, but it seems Spurs are already eyeing targets for the next one.
Kessie finds himself out of contract in June 2022, and Calciomercato believe he and AC Milan are struggling to find an agreement over fresh terms.
As a result, Tottenham are lurking. Interestingly, Spurs won’t have to wait until June 2022 to make the 44-cap Ivory Coast international their own.
If Kessie’s contract situation remains unchanged in January, clubs can contact him about a pre-contract agreement.
Calciomercato state that Fabio Paratici is readying an offer worth €8m-a-year (£6.9m) to bring the 24-year-old to N17, which equates to £134,615-a-week.
What would Franck Kessie offer Tottenham?
What wouldn’t Kessie offer Tottenham should be the question here.
The Ivorian is incredibly well-rounded. Kessie can score goals, create goals, and also get around the pitch to great effect with his stamina levels.
He’s a true box-to-box option, and at 24, has plenty of time to get even better under Nuno Espirito Santo’s guidance, if he does move to England.
Alongside Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Oliver Skipp in midfield, he would be a joy to watch as he offers a greater goalscoring threat.
Together, the trio would compliment each other superbly with their various abilities.
Add in the fact he could be signed for free, and Spurs may already be eyeing up the deal of 2023.
