Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to reveal a theory they hold regarding Fenway Sports Group, following transfer deadline day.
What’s the story?
Well, FSG backed Jürgen Klopp with just £36m to try and wrestle the Premier League title back from Manchester City.
In fact, you couldn’t really say that was the case, as the Reds raised nearly £25m in sales according to Transfermarkt.

Now, due to the lack of spending, and the huge amount of contract renewals seen this summer, Liverpool fans think FSG are planning to sell.
It’s a theory that makes sense.
Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Alisson, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold all signed new contracts over the summer.
As one fan states, FSG could just be ensuring the value of these players doesn’t drop, so they can demand more for the club as a whole.
Should FSG sell Liverpool?
In our view, FSG should definitely cash in on Liverpool before Klopp leaves.
Much of FSG’s success at Anfield has been down the the German’s unrivalled managerial ability.
No other manager in Europe – in our opinion – could’ve gone head-to-head with Pep Guardiola over the last few years and come out on top with a much cheaper squad.
Klopp’s brilliance masks FSG’s incompetence.
When he leaves Anfield, it’s highly unlikely another manager will be able to keep that up, and then things could become very toxic on Merseyside.
In truth, they already are slightly hostile after such a quiet transfer window.
Nevertheless, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying…

Gonna open Pandora’s box here but does anyone think FSG could be prepping to sell?
– Konate a buyout clause in full, no debt
– tying down long term assets
– not adding any further debt in transfer instalmentsCould be nothing but maybe something in it?

I agree and have secured the planning rights to extend the stadium and increase capacity . Does look like they are getting the foundations in order to me also .

I think it’s a serious possibility Marty. I don’t buy the storyline that we couldn’t afford anyone. And I definitely think they feel/dislike the criticism more than Kronke & the Glazers. Maybe their getting fed up, what comes after them could be worse though

Yeap said this to mate yesterday, added to the fact that the super league which they were driving for falling through and I would say there is a high chance of a sale
